Just to set the record straight.
Every food/drink has a water content, some more than others. The advice is to consume 8-10 total glasses daily, not 8-10 on top of other drinks or wet food such as soup. Now that doesn't mean guzzling fizzy drinks/coffee/beer to replace water but it does mean they they should be considered as part of your fluid intake when calculating. It is worth remembering that drinking water to excess (by excess i mean litres at any one time) is harmful and in extreme cases can kill you by overwhelming your kidneys.
