Unhappy Sleep

I've been reading about how not getting enough sleep can affect weight management. If we don't get enough sleep it can actually cause us to convert more sugars to fat and to feel hungry even when we are full because of the increased hormones we release when we're tired. That really is food for thought as I know I sleep badly.

It's a good idea to try to get around 8 hours of sleep each night. Also don't eat right before you go to bed because not only is it more difficult to go to sleep but the calories from the food won't be burned up as easily and result in weight gain. A good night's sleep will not only help your physical health but your mental health as well.

Definetely agree with Vega, everyone should be aiming to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.

We go through natural sleep cycles which last for around 4 hours. Interrupting these cycles prematurely can cause problems.

Try and make sure you dont drink caffeine late in the day and make sure you spend the last few hours of your day really relaxing so that your able to get to sleep relatively easily.

Sleep is a state of behaviour that are a natural part of life for individuals. We spend about one third of our lives asleep.Although snoring is more common among adult men, it is not uncommon for women and children, even babies, snoring. Sleep is an active process that involves specific signals of regulation

Thumbs up re: sleep

Sleep is very important as our brain needs rest from the controlling function it carries out when we are awake. although it is awake even when we are asleep, it needs the rest. Also , it is a bodily function which makes it mandatory.

Hi,
I read somewhere that you actually lose weight when you sleep- has anyone else heard that? Have you tried natural sleep remedies which induce sleep and don't leave you feeling hungover the following morning?

Bad sleeping patterns can cause more problems than you think. There's plenty you can do though,

Meditiation
Exercise
Eye Masks
Earplugs

One thing i always try to do is make sure I do not eat carbs in the last meal of the day. I simply eat proteins and salad / green veg
