Default First day

Right - just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Guy and I am about to start the diet route again. Any recommendation for long term diet in which you eat a lot of carbon and still lose weight would be happily accepted (some realistic suggestions are also welcome). My diets in general are a bit like Andy Murray's attempts at winning grand slam finals. It always looks achievable before hand but after (or in my case in the long run) it is always more like who are we kidding we are so not there. Especially concerned about the gap between the morning promises and the end of the day summary are mainly embarassing. But not any more. This time with this forum I am going to get rid of a whole stone and keep it this way. Will report here every day.

My first thought is that you should look into the Atkins diet for eating a lot of carbs. Also, the point about A.M.'s attempts - well he will only get there by lots of practice and dedication, something most yoyo dieters lack, do they not?
All the best in your endeavours...

When it comes to the difficulty of maintaining a weight loss diet too many set such high goals and then wonder why they find they constantly fail. Set more reasonable goals - if you have a lot of weight to lose make a mini goal of say 1stone to lose by (?) - that way you won't feel so overwhelmed by the expectations. Then when a "blip" occurs, as they surely will! - just enjoy the little extra "treat" and get back to the diet a.s.a.p.

This sort of strategy has worked for me and I have lost 2stone since last April.

All the very best to you...

Fruits and vegetables are very good source of fiber and could help in loosing weight. Better also to eat small meals rather than big meals in a day to let your body digest first and faster the food intake. So i suggest you eat small meals of your usual food if you could not avoid them rather than eating them in a big quantity in one time.

The main reason that we are so overweight is because of our relationship with food. In our society, we tend to concentrate on quantity. We simply want as much as we can get instead of the best food that we can get. Quantity always beats out quality, when it should be exactly the opposite of that.

Once you’ve decided to lose weight, it can be difficult to determine where exactly you should get started. If you have a strong resolve to get going and to lose weight, it is possible. You just have to figure out how to say “no.”

So what happpend to you reporting back to this forum every day?
