Wink Dieting tips and the benefits

Hi guys

I am new to this forum and wanted to touch base with everyone...helloo

I have been reading some of the threads and posts and they are inspirational. I have been wanting to lose a bit of weight for a long time now and I have come across some ideas that have benefitted me and I hope will be of some use to some members.

So here goes...

For those of you who have high blood pressure losing just 9 pounds off your weight can bring your blood pressure down to normal.

A little tip that can help you lose those extra pounds is obviously to suppress your appetite. You can sniff some vanilla…let me explain.

Studies show how overweight people, when given vanilla-scented skin patches, significantly decrease their consumption of sweet foods.

This would suggest that the smell of vanilla may help cravings for sweet foods. Try carrying some vanilla essence with you the next time you want to lose those extra pounds.

If you want to stay the same weight as you get older, like me, eat several small meals every day rather than one or two large meals.

At Tufts University, Boston, research have found that people in their 50’s and older will burn up small meals successfully but their bodies found it much more difficult to cope with larger meals. This is the reason for weight gain as we get older.

Aim for about 400-500 calories per small meal. Avoid meals that have 1000 calories or more as this is the No.1 cause of obesity.

I hope some members will find my input of use

All the best

Tony

Healthy eating is not about strict nutrition philosophies, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, and keeping yourself as healthy as possible– all of which can be achieved by learning some nutrition basics and using them in a way that works for you.

I've never heard of sniffing vanilla before. I will try it and let you know how it goes!

And here's a few more.

When the time comes and that urge to snack those little etras or to have a bit of a binge, don't beat yourself up about it. Remember that you are only human and none of us are perfect so this is going to happen from time to time.
I find it best to own th occasion and enjoy that blip and then get back to the dieting regime a.s.a.p.
Anxiety and depression stops the body from losing weight and indeed will make retention of fluids more likely. Relax, take a deep breath and carry on with the new and healthier eating plan....

A popular carry-over from the Atkins diet, this may be the single most destructive ever proposed to promote weight loss. I've actually seen the site, so users support each other, eat each other's task less than 50 grams of carbohydrates per day.

I would rather start eating healthy than "Go On a Diet" and then, after 3 months "Leave The Diet" and start living unhealthy again
