I can understand where you are both coming from!!
My first dieting experience was when I was about 17 and have been slim about 4 times during my time and am now 76 and back on the same old wagon again. Started last April 2010 at 16st 2lb and am now 14st 2lb doing the very Old Weight Watchers combined with Calorie counting.
At the end of the day it's working at what suits each of us best and learning to control things in such a way that we don't feel deprived. I have found that every so often I will have a break and have a really "over the top" meal and then get back to the job in hand without feeling that I have been "bad".
Hope you both manage to get something sorted.
All the best to you! ...
All the world is mad except thee and me and even thee's a little odd!

I am with you all, been dieting all my life only now have under active thyroid to add to problem. Still working hard to try to keep trim and don't think I will ever give up.
I find lots of water and fresh fruit keeps hunger away.
    Good luck to you all.

If you are running in daily and use balance diet. After some time to check benefits in yourself due to exercise.
