Hello there
Hi there
My name is Charlotte(lottie). I've been overweight since I was about 10yrs. I've always struggled to control my weight.
I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 18 but it took me 15 yrs to sort my diet and fitness out . I managed to lose 4 stone and a wonderful side affect of that was becoming pregnant with my daughter. I continued to eat healthily while pregnant and only put the bare amount of weight on and when my daughter was born my weight was fine but it all went downhill after that. I've now put all the weight i lost back on again and can't find the motivation i need to sort myself out. I'm a bit of a disaster at the moment lol but I do realise I need to sort my self out if not for me for my daughter.
So i would really appreciate any help and advise you can give , and the odd kick up the backside(:P)

Re: Hello there
Thanks for the welcome Mo. PCOS is polycystic ovarium syndrom. It's a hormonal problem where tiny cysts grow on your ovaries . It affects me by me not having periods, facial and body hair, put on weight easily and difficulty losing it, insulin resistance ,mood swings etc. It can be helped very successfully thru diet and exercise and also taking the diabetic drug metformin.

Re: Hello there
Hi Lottie,
Thanks for the explanation.
It is really quite incredible how many medical conditions can be improved by having a good healthy diet. From what you say PCOS is one of those that can benefit greatly.
I look forward to hearing about your journey. Good luck!

Re: Hello there
Hi All,
This is my first day on the site.I am looking forward to the forums and the feed back when there is a good subject to answer to.I have been putting weight on for the last two years,I am really desperate to lose it.It just makes me feel grumpy all the time.I am enquiring about a gym near me today to see if I can afford it.Exercise is really vital in dieting, which I hadnt done before.I know I will find it hard going, but i want to stick it out.If I cant afford it I will do some exercise at home.Think I have gone on too much, but its nice to talk to people who are in my boat.Happy Days Ahead.
Thanx for reading this catch you all laters

Re: Hello there
If you shop at tescos I believe that you can convert clubcard vouchers into LA fitness vouchers. £2.50 of clubcard = £10.00 of LA fitness vouchers.
