Default Wobbletum (or should that be wobbleBUM?) says hello!

    Hi there.

I've joined up as I'm on a lot of doggy forums, and when I hit a block it's nice to talk it over with other people who've been through similar. Well I'm currently trying to lose weight...and boy have I hit a block.

I began my healthy eating diet last week on Monday, and was really pumped about it. I used to eat at least a sharing bag of Maltesers, half a slab of Cadbury, as well as crisps, fatty foods, etc., without even thinking about it; and that's each DAY. Needless to say, I'm very overweight. Anyway, this week there's been no chocolate, I've been really careful, eating only salads and lean meats, etc., tried really really hard. And I lost nothing. And it's not like I'm 7 stone and trying to lose 4 ounces or anything...I'm SEVENTEEN stone and didn't even lose a measly pound.

Anyway. I joined up in hope I could get some tips on where I went wrong, and how I can do better. Hoping to get to know you all better!

    Rgds,

    Beth

p.s. And I did exercise, too! Two half hour walks a day!

You just have to give it time and keep at it. It is a lifestyle change after all. I have been trying to lose 2 stone for the past 5 and a half weeks now and have not really lost much at all even though I have changed my diet to a more healthier one and become a lot more active. What I keep telling myself is that, it didn't take 5 weeks for me to put the weight on so it won't take 5 weeks for it to fall off. It was a gradual process. What I have decided to do is just work harder, increase my fitness and continue eating healthy. I don't believe there is any other way, especially if you are looking for long term weight loss. I have my down days too and feel like not bothering when all my hard work looks like its not paying off but then that would just put me back in square one. Just keep up the good work and you will soon start to see results

Man - I'd be seriously peeved if I did ALL that and didnt lose ANYTHING!!! Maybe you should try recording everything you eat, that might help you realise where the problem lies? I hope you stick at it though, I'm looking forward to hearing how you progress!
