    Default Hello :)

    Hi! B)
My name's really my username (imaginative, huh?) and I live in good old Yorkshire. I am actually just a teenager, but I seriously need to loose weight.
Ever since I can remember I have been bullied because of my weight, and now, with size 36GG boobs and weighing in at 15 stone at 15 years, I've decided I've had enough. I hope I can get my life back on track but, being a rather fussy eater, it's not going to be easy. Which is why I signed up here. Being 15, the only job I can get is a paper girl, which means not much money for weight-groups :-( so hopefully here I can get some help.
Here's hoping we can get along!
    You know who x

    Hiya

    Welcome to the forums!

At least you are recognising you need to eat healthier etc, which is a good thing at whatever age you are.

Look forward to chatting more in the forums.

    Gem :-)

    Hi Emma-Rose

Congratulations, you have made the first step which is the hardest - acknowledging you want to make a change.

I have lost nearly three stone over the last year and have another three to go. One question I have asked myself over and over is why did I not loose weight sooner. I have been so unhappy over the past 20 years and the solution was not that difficult. So if there is one bit of advice I would like to give you is to start now, do not spend the next 20 years wishing that you'd started sooner.

Some of the things that have helped me this time are: Plan your menu/eating - if you know what you are having for lunch/dinner you don't tend to pick at food whilst deciding what to have for dinner. Write down everything you eat during the day. It will show you what you are eating and when. Get the support of your family and friends.

Listen to the sabotaging voices in your head that say - too much effort, start tomorrow, just one wont hurt. If you can hear those voices and start to ignore them that is a huge step forward.

My current favourite is as I am wondering round the kitchen is to remind myself that ' I want to be thin more than I want that biscuit' (or whatever food item you are going to eat when not hungry) I say that to myself over and over and now it automatically enters my head. Before I would have eaten a biscuit without even realising that I had.

My last tip for the moment - promise!! Visualise how you want to look - close your eyes and really feel slimmer, confident, happy - if you do that first thing in the morning and last thing at night that picture of how you want to be will enter your head when you are going to eat something unhealthy.

You can do this Emma-Rose, and you will feel so much better. What's more I have loads more helpful tips!!!!!

look forward to hearing how you are doing

Hi Emma-Rose and welcome to the forum.

I have much empathy for you, as I too was nearly 15 stone at age 15 - so I know exactly how you feel.
Now is a great time to take control of the situation and make a change. You are still young and at this age your metabolism should be at a good peak. When you get older (like me boohooo) your metabolism slows down a bit naturally and it is harder to lose weight and keep things under control.

Don't worry about not having money for clubs etc (I presume you mean Weightwatchers and things like that) - I have never been to a slimming club in my life.

My personal advice to you - is to start a progress journal on here. We can have a closer look at your current diet and make some adjustments and also discuss what exercise you are doing and see where we can make improvements. When we have the plan in place, you can then use your journal as a monitoring tool and also all members on here will offer you support, encouragement and advice.

    You can do this! (tu)
