    Default Hello There

    Hi

My name is Elizabeth and come from Stirling, work from home and have 4 children. I was 16 stone at my worst and did lose 2.5 stone but have put one back on. I find that my mental state has a lot to do with it and if times are tough I look forward to a 'pick me up' in the evening which usually comprises a bottle of bubbly or wine and nibbles. I have the will power of a peanut especially when hubby says 'lets go for a pizza'.

Even through the tough times though I have gone to the gym 4 times a week, walk 2 miles daily and weight train 2 times so am fairly fit. Now I am resolute (again) to get down to my target weight by October so am looking for inspiration and support to keep going.

    Hi Elizabeth,

    Welcome to the forums.

Have you thought about starting a journal in the progress section of the forums?
They can be great to help you keep motivated and on target.

    Hi Elizabeth
I too found that the mental side of things was the big thing. I work really hard at hearing my 'sabotaging voices'. Those little buggers that say - "Start tomorrow", "One pizza wont hurt"!!! and the rest.....
Actually listening to the sabotage made it harder to ignore.
I wrote a list of what I wanted to feel like when I'd lost weight, I then read it every morning and evening. Eventually I found that when I was about to give in I would remember my list. My favourite saying to myself is "I want to be thin more than I want to eat ......."
I actually think that addressing my negative sabotaging voices has given me more pleasure than loosing the weight.
I did take a couple of months of brainwashing myself and then it became easier to ignore the negative self talk. Obviously I had 20 years of being negative so it wasn't going to change over night.
Good luck - oh and get that hubby to stop suggessting Pizza!!!!!
