    Default Hello

My name is deborah and am in something of a quandry. Six years ago I lost five stones with weight watchers, had to leave through serious illness and have regained all the lost weight since. Last week, after trying to lose weight alone, rejoined ww. I weighed in at 17st 101/2lb. I feel very motivated now to lose weight, but the 'leader' was awful, really uninspiring. I have been following the ww points system and will go again this coming week, to be weighed. At the risk of becoming more depressed I may stay for the meeting. If it's as bad as last week I'll have to consider whether or not it's worth paying almost £5 a week just to get weighed, or spend 50p on Boots scales and subscribe to this forum and hopefully succeed with online support. I don't like the ethos of ww, with their table ladened with ww choc bars etc. and the leader's constant message of ww attendance being the only way to successfully lose weight, and keep it off. I'm hoping that other forum members can reassure me that this is not the case.

    Hi Deborah
I know what it's like to attend a meeting with an uninspirational leader. One of the ones that I went to the leader literally read her script!!
You sound really well motivated at the moment and perhaps you will get the support you need from this forum. There is a 'Weigh in Wednesday' group on this forum and a Progress Journal group where you can let us know how you are doing. Indeed you can start your own group if you wish and you will soon find people joining you.
Personally I use the Weight Watchers points system, I was 17st 10lbs last May and lost nearly 3 stone last year. Have now frustratingly slowed up to loosing 6 lbs in 8 weeks!!! arghhhhh - but everytime I get fed up someone on these forums lights my fire and off I go again. I have another 3 stone to loose.
Look forward to hearing your progress, good luck

    Default Thanks Helen

    Hi Helen
So good to get such a quick response to my posting last night. 3 stones loss is brilliant - I have heard that the weight loss does slow up a bit at times but sounds as though you're steadily getting slimmer.
I'll certainly give the Weigh in Wednesday and Progress Journal groups a try. Thanks!

    Hi Deborah

Welcome to diets.co.uk - we believe the same about weight watchers, and why should you pay £5 a week to be patronised by a team leader whose only real interest in being at the meeting is the financial gain.

I look forward to seeing you posting more, and getting involved in the various forums. We are a growing community with one thing in mind - to lose weight for free ! it is great to be able to talk to people who are in the same boat as us and not be charged money for the privilege.

Take care and keep up the good work !

    Hi Frank
Thanks for the encouragement and you're absolutely right about weight watchers - thanks for confirming what I feel about them.

I'll certainly be making regular postings: Progress journal and weigh in groups etc. Good luck to us all!

Hi Deborah. Glad to see you have joined. I only joined last week for some extra support and found the site brilliant. Everyones here to pick you up when your having a bad day (or week)!
After two pregnancies and alot of over eating in between, i put on a massive 6 stone and weighed in at 17 stone 2lb, that was 3 weeks ago and i now weigh in at 16 stone 4lbs.
We can all help you do this.
Good luck and look forward to seeing some more posts and your weight loss.

It always drops off me quick to start with but I have now hit the 'lose nothing for weeks stage', usually when I would give it but not this time I hope!! Sure we can motivate each other. Good luck too, keep us posted on your success x
