Default Hello there!

Hi, I'm Hol and I'm about to turn 21.

I've been overweight since I was 13, when I was 11st, I then ballooned up to 13st until I was 19 when I left a miserable relationship and moved to another city, without thinking I lost 2st! THats when I realised that I wasn't happy with my weight, and that I had already lost so much of my youth feeling uncomfortable with myself and insecure and that life is for living!

I want to be able to look down and see something I am proud of and never fret about it again. I'm recently diagnosed gluten and dairy intolerant and keeping away from these foods is hell!!! But I'm getting there.

I joined so that I can speak to people who understand what it is to be uncomfortable in your own skin, as I am so tired of people telling me not to lose weight and that I look fine, I want to feel fine and look fine to me!

Hi - I'm Fran, and found this site whilst looking for online diets. I've tried lots of diets over the years, but am finding it much more difficult to lose weight as I get older. I decided that I must do something about my weight when I caught sight of myself in a mirror in a shopping centre and wondered who the fat, badly dressed woman coming towards me was!! I've got about 7 stone to lose, hopefully by June next year as there's a special occasion coming up, and I'd really like to be wearing something size 12 - 14 for it. I've been on insulin for the past couple of years, and put on about two and a half stone within about 3 months, which hasn't helped. I look forward to chatting with you all, and taking (and giving!) encouragement when needed.

Hia everybody i'm Maria and I'm so glad I've found this forum coz I've got a sneaky suspicion it's gonna be my saving grace... I'm aware that I'm not overweight as such (5"4 and 8 stone- ish) but in recent years I've had an unhealthy obsession with trying to get stick thin which inevitably involved starvation diets and lots of so called " thinspiration". I was very depressed and mentally strained but my mates helped my alot.

This holiday I feel like i've made up for the past because I've been to countless 18th birthday parties, an engagement party, a results day party and a group of my friends and me did our own version of " come dine with me" !

Now I'm in dire need of a detox, and I want to do some excercise that won't cost a fortune so hopefully people will have ideas? I just want to get into a regular pattern again, feel a bit more healthy and a bit more toned

Thanks for reading this and I'm looking forward to having a chat with some people in a similair situation to myself... I'm lucky that I had people around me who snapped me out of my bad habits before I developed a full blown eating disorder- I'm truly grateful for that.

Good luck to everyone and cheers for reading this
Ria xx

Why hello....my name is Charlotte and have put on 3 stone since moving back home. I think boredom is doing it, but now i have given myself the task of losing it in 6 months. I'm starting boot camp tomorrow and cutting out all sugary and refined foods to try and lose the weight..Wish me luck!

Default New today

Hi everyone, I am new to this site today. I am 70, and have a lot of weight to lose, and because I live on my own, I really need some help and encouragement. I'd love to know if there is someone in a similar position to me. Marian

hi, im new to this site, im 46 and have weight to lose myself it is very hard though i have lost 2 stone and still have 2 stone to lose. i sometimes stick to same weight for days and nearly give up but i am begining to see a difference now which gives me incentive to carry on. i find eating at regular times help a lot i have breakfast of piece toast and cup of tea or coffee, then at 12 i have main meal then at 5 i have a light tea either egg on toast with cup of tea or a sandwich. i have found fruit very good but i dont like salads so i had to find something to suit me and it wasnt easy. so my advice to u is find something that suits u work out calories of food u eat and cook less think of portion size very best of luck to u .kind regards linda
