Hi Angela

Welcome to diets! I think everyone gets the same thing when they are comfortable
in a relationship and when their partner is telling them its not a problem.
But if your not happy with yourself, then its better to do something about it.
Try starting a journal on here, i have one and it helps to keep me motivated. :-)

Look forward to chatting more

hi angie! im new to the site too (joined yesterday!) and im also feeling down about not fitting into my fave clothes, they're all just sitting there in the cupboard looking lonely!! but im determined to get back into them, so i scraped my money together and paid for a gym membership, as i reckon excersise is the key..

maybe you could try using the time between you finishing work and your partner getting home to do a fitness dvd or something? or putting on your trainers and going for a brisk walk? think of an excercise that wont bore the tears out of you! hope to chat soon and see how you're doing

Hi my name is Susie and I put on three stone after a hysterectomy several years ago. This led to a bowel and bladder prolapse which resulted in further surgery.
My big problem is that all the fat and blubber sits around my stomach area and despite watching what I eat will not shift. I think I need a bit of help and support (and not just to hold my belly up). I hope I find it here.

Hi Susie

Welcome to the forums!
I always suggest that people start up a diet journal on here, it can help you to
keep a track of what you are eating, how your weightloss is going etc.
Plus it helps get support!

Look forward to chatting more soon

Default Hi

Hi there,

As my forum name suggests I never imagined when I was younger that I would ever be overweight as I used to get called things like stick and beanpole when I was at school.

So it is quite a shock that I am now 11st 8lbs

I am now approaching 45 and have had a more sedentary job for the last 5 years.

Until I was 40 I was about 8st 8lb so I don't feel great about putting on 3 stone.

I want to lose 2 stone and feel okay about myself again.

I can be a chocoholic so have to be careful. It doesn't help when my husband fills the fridge up with chocolate when I lose weight.
He also loves cooking and is really good at it so that doesn't help me to stay slim either.

Like most of you on here I enjoy a glass of wine too but I am not going to give that up completely.

It is a vicious circle though in that the better you feel about yourself the more motivated you seem to be?

I have just got on the treadmill for the first time in about 2 years and done half an hours brisk walking so that is a start.

I also have a horse which does keep me quite toned but I would rather be slim and toned instead of fat and toned!

Anyway it is great to have found this forum and I'll keep popping in for some mutual support.

Hi

Welcome to the forums!
At least you have decided to do something about it as your not happy with your weight.
I think most people have a bit of a calorie problem with drinking wine, i would prefer
to actually chew something if i am going to have calories i shouldnt.lol

Maybe you could start a journal on here, helps to keep you and us up to date of how your doing and help you keep track of how much weight you have lost etc.
I have one myself. :-)

Look forward to chatting more soon
