    Smile hi guys! :)

    hi everyone, i found your site today and i think it looks great, really nice and friendly exactly what i need.. some help and support..

    im 27 and im afraid im thoroughly miserable, so sick of sitting at home on my own feeling fat! a year or so ago i was very slim and confident, always going out dancing and socialising, then quite a few bad things happened in my life, and i didnt really feel like dancing for a while..i stopped going to clubs and opted for having pints at the pub instead, and then getting takeaways on the way home.. inevitably over the year, ive put on 3stone.

    as ive gotten fatter ive gradually withdrawn from social situations altogether and have lost contact with all but 2 of my friends (who are both size8 and just dont understand) as they were all clubbing dancing types like i used to be, and they just gave up inviting me out after a while..

    but i wanadance again!! (hence the username!) im determined to get back on that dance floor and feel happy and confident like i used to!!

    so this is me, im here and i would appreciate a few diet buddies so we can all help eachother achieve our goals! lets get happy and healthy!

    Hi & welcome to the forums.

    I think alot of people get into that same situation tbh for whatever the reasons may be.
    But at least you have decided to do something about it sooner rather than later.
    Are you doing any particular type of diet or exercise?

    Maybe you could start a diet journal on here, i have one and it helps to keep me motivated and actually typing things down that you have eaten etc can help you keep track of it all.
    We also have a free meal planner that you can download on the home page. :-)

    Smile thanx! glad to be here!

    no particular diet plan (iv tried weightwatchers, slimming world, slimfast shakes and many more in the past few years, as my weight has been very up and down since i was 18, they've all worked get the weight off fine, but as soon as i stop the plan, the flab has just crept back on..)

    i think instead of going on an actual 'diet' i will try a whole new outlook on the way i view food as 'treating myself' or as a way of making myself feel better.. im sick of yoyo dieting, this time its not just a diet, its a lifestyle change!

    so, im just staying away from alcohol and takeaways and trying to eat healthier..more greens, protein etc, and less fatty stuff..i'll probably be looking at the meal planner thing as its been so long since i cooked healthy meals iv almost forgotten what to do! the past year or so iv just been eating takeaways!

    ive also joined the gym again, which i hate, but all i need to do is listen to the music playing in there and imagine myself shimmying away on the dancefloor all slim and healthy and i get thru my workout ok!!

    im still trying to figure out the site (not too good with computers!) so i'll have a look at the diet journal thingy, im sure i'll be bugging you with questions a lot so brace yourself!!

    I've tried alot of diets myself, and am trying to do the same thing with healthy eating but my calorie counting too, not rigorously but just trying to eat things that you can easily know the calorie content of.
    Plus i have a cheat on a saturday cos it helps to keep me sane! lol My body hasnt been the same since having my 3 kids.
    You can start a journal easily, its just the same as starting a normal post on here but just update the same thread whenever you want instead of starting a new one when you post in it. If that makes sense? lol

    And music is definately a help when exercising! Cant beat a bit of Cascada! lol
