    Good Luck Kirk

I started my journey last year and lost just over 2 stone. Then hit a 'plateau'.

So part two of my journey starts today - 3 stone to loose this year.

Not only did I follow a diet, but I looked at the psychological reasons behind why I ate the wrong things. Changing the way I viewed eating really helped - listening out for those negative sabotaging voices and taking no notice of them worked for me. It was hard at first a bit like re brainwashing myself to think like a thin person.

For example - I can remember a friend saying to me 'Someone brought cakes into the office today and I thought why not life is for living and I had two. Then a really thin person said that she mustn't eat them 'cos they'll ruin her appetite, and I thought - for goodness sake just enjoy them'

And that's the difference between the way thin people think, so I have tried to think like a thin person!!!

I am going to post a thought of the week, so that we can look at the way we eat and this week my thought is..........

I WANT TO BE THIN MORE THAN I WANT TO EAT............ chocolate/bread/butter whatever it is that I eat when I am not hungry.

let me know how you get on.

    Hello Gem
Well i weighed myself this morning and im officially 21st 3 1/2lb so not exactly a blinding start but i have been quite inactive this week as i was driving to newport every afternoon and then back so sitting in a van doesnt exactly help with good eating habits or exercise

When going on a long car journey I used to take loads of crap with me. Mainly crisps, chocolate bars, sweets (haribos) and fizzy drinks.

I don't think it's because I am hungry, it's part of dealing with the boredom of a long drive. I think it's almost like having a bit of company.

Replacing the crap food and drink with something healthy can make a difference.

My friends take the piss, but I now replace a bag of crisps with a bag of mixed salad leaves. When I am driving along it is the same experience of shoving my hand into a bag of something and stuffing my face. Except I am having leaves instead of crisps.
Strange at first but you get used to it. Instead of chocolate and sweets I take fruit and nuts. Without the crisps and sweets I much prefer to drink water instead of fizzy drinks.

At the end of the journey I don't feel half as sluggish and tired.

I'm sure you will all take the piss also :P

What's your diet like at the moment, can you post up a typical days eating and drinking.
This could well be where adjustments can be made
