Default Lose over a stone and a couple of inches

Like many the Christmas celebrations has seen me heading away from the shape and weight I would like to be. My cholesterol is also a little bit high at 6.4, so I given myself 3 months to lose over a stone, a couple of inches and hopefully get my cholesterol nearer to 5 than it is to 7.

To do this I have decided to initially take control of my diet and start to eat more healthily before hitting the cross trainer again. The chip based pub lunches have been replaced with various salads, the take ways have moved over and fish dinners have become the main meal of the day. However the biggest challange for me was giving up the ice cream.

The first week has now past since starting and I am pleased to say that I have managed to lose just over 4 Ib.

This week was going to be a real test for me as I spent the weekend in a lovely hotel. During that stay I enjoyed two full english breakfasts, two 3 course meals, champagne, wine and more than a few pints of Guinness. The weekend was rounded off with a nice curry and chips. So the diet really did take a back stage but on the bright side I did do several hours of walking and an hour in the swimming pool although didn't take advantage of the gym.

The rest of the week I returned back to my healthly eating but still haven't managed to jump on the cross trainer. So it was with trepidation that I stepped onto the scales this morning but to my surprise I have managed to lose 0.6 Kg.

This has really pleased me as I was always going to have a treat at the weekend of a curry and chips after watching my local ice hockey team on Saturday night. I know that future weekends will not be as indulgant as the one just past and that I will start to do some exercise which means that I should still be able to reach my target of 1lb a week.

A better week that my previous one with just one bad meal eaten all week, Chicken Curry and chips after ice hockey on Saturday night. I have been suffering from a minor cold with a sore throat and a slightly bloked nose. For this I have been sucking on lockets all week as a result. Know idea how many calories a locket has but apparently each one has 4.1g of total sugars, whatever that means.

Still haven't managed to jump onto the cross trainer yet or get out for some long walks, in fact no real exercise at all. So how well did I do, another 0.5Kg off my weight and I can now do my belt up one notch tighter than I could before. Although the weight loss has dropped again I am not really concerned as 0.5Kg per week is my target. My real breakthrough for me though has to be that one notch tighter on my belt.

Well 0.5kg is roughly a pound, so that's good for the week. In fact I would say that is ideal for you.
Good news on the belt (tu)

The weekend started off around Friday lunchtime as far as relaxing the diet was concerned. A very nice Chicken and Brocoli pie with loads of veg. Not bad I hear you say but the cream sauce in the pie was probably a days worth of calories on it's own. That night was even worse with a 2 large pizzas, 2 garlic bread, two lots of chicken strippers with spicy potato edges. Not all for myself I would like to add but shared between four of us. I did however manage to eat my fair share. Saturday started well with a light breakfast, well very light in fact, a cup of green tea and a rice cake. Lunch was missd altogether which is probably why I had a double cheese burger, 3 chicken selects, large fries, onion rings and a McFlurry. Sunday was no breakfast but a large Sunday roast. Corned beef sandwiches for tea.

The week was pretty good with green tea, dried fruit and berries for breakfast. Mainly salads for lunch and some sort of fish with either veg or brown bread. Sorry if this is making you feel hungry but I am using this journal to record all the good and bad stuff I have eaten.

Exercise - none ( well I walk to my car and then to my desk and do the reverse at night ).

So, I stepped onto the scales expecting to see bad news but to my surprise another loss of 0.3Kg. The weight loss is getting less and less each week but that is mainy due to the fact that I am letting my eating habits slip a little further back to old ways. This trend has to stop soon.

My intention is to start getting onto the cross trainer this weekend and maybe going for a couple of long (ish) walks. Hopefully the start of a routine that will last longer that a week.
