Default from amateur bodybuilder to professional junk food eater !

ok so I have decided to do my own journal to kick my backside into gear in 2009.

    Background

I am currently 30 years old, 5ft 8, weighing at 13stone 8lbs with also slightly high blood pressure.

Now as I used to be a practising bodybuilder who used to watch EVERYTHING I ate and attended the gym 5 times a week (click to enlarge picture)

I quit the gym in early 2007 to dedicate more time to my work and family life, instead of myself and the gym. I now sit on my arse all day everyday building up my internet businesses and spending time with my family, and will snack on anything and everything in sight.

I have always been a VERY fussy eater since a kid and I dont like ANY salad / veg / fruit apart from peas, grapes and apples.

My diet now consists literally of burger king, mcdonalds, harvester, pasta, super noodles, chips, indian, pizza, chicken and bacon baguettes, subway and anything else which tastes nice but is no good for you. My other biggest vice is coca-cola and I have been known to drink 18 cans a day of it !

Now one thing in my defence is that I am almost tee-total as I done enough drinking in my younger days lol ! and I rarely have a drink or get drunk - maybe 2 times a year and thats it.

Needless to say I am now unhealthily over weight and actually feel fat. Looking back at my pictures from when I was a gym fanatic, makes me sad as I thought I looked crap then, so god knows what I look like now !

So I have decided to embark on this jouney and see where I can be in 3 months time - my modest goal is 1 stone 2lbs in 3 months so thats 12 weeks to lose just under 1.5lb every week.

Wish me luck as I am definatly going to need it !

Similar target as I have set myself. Wrong side of 40, 6 ft 1 and a lover of all food unhealthy. My weigh in at the end of last year was 92.9 Kg and my aim is to get down to about 84 Kg.

My first week saw a loss of just under 2 Kg so a good start to the year. I know I will not maintain this but I would feel more comfortable with a smaller but more consistent weight loss.

I will raise my glass of carrot juice to our coming success.

I think what is definitely in your favour Frank, is that due to your BBing background, you already have the knowledge of what a good diet should be like, so you know what to do .... but it is all too easy to fall into bad habits is it not? I know it only too well!

Are you doing any exercise at all at the moment?

    hi Fiona

Thanks for your comments, I missed them until now sorry !

Yeh with my background it should be easier to be stricter, but I have now fallen into the trap of comfort food and enjoying my food too much.

I have been alot better since monday and I am confident that I will lose more weight by next week too

No I am not doing ANY exercise at the moment down to the following reasons

    1. lack of time
    2. lack of motivation
    3. making excuses not to go !

I am planning on turning over a new leaf when we finally move into our new house next week, and making a much more worthwhile effort to succeed wish me luck !

Of course, best of luck with this. Sometimes when you lose motivation, it is hard to find it again (I know this well) - but you will find it again I'm sure (tu)
