    Default (:P)I am starting tomorrow

Hello all. I am a new member to diets uk . I am starting a new healthy lifestyle tomorrow ie cut back on junk food and booze. I hope to lose all the excess weight ie 4.5 stones by the end of 2009. I am weighing myself next Monday , so hopefully I can report a wt loss of 1-2lbs. I look forward to getting to know everybody and receiving motivation and support. Thanks -D

Hi, I wish you all the sucess with this and we will all motivate and encourage you.

To lose 4 1/2 stone by the end of this year is quite achievable.

4 1/2 stone is 63lbs. That is 126 packets of butter. Imagine carrying around shopping bags containing 126 packets of butter, 24 hours a day. With that in mind, imagine yourself at the end of the year and how much better you will look and feel when that 'butter' has melted away..!

Hi Summer you can do it! It's more than acheivable. Focus on the bigger picture i.e how you will feel and look 6 months from now. I can reccomend following the weight watchers points system and 20 minutes of exercise 3 times a week. Remember all the little things you do to aid your new lifestyle all adds up in the long term. nicki

Hi, welcome to the forum the hardest part i found was making the decision to go on a diet now i have i feel so much better even just losing 1 or 2 pounds each week boosts your confidence and gives you the motivation to keep going. filling yourself up on free foods such as no points soup and plenty of fruit and veg stops you feeling hungry, and a little bit of exericse each day helps.(:P) hope you do well.

    Hi Summer - welcome

This time last year I was 34lbs heavier than I am now. At the time I needed to loose 5 stone and for many years it seemed such a huge amount that it was overwhelming and I wasted all that time just wishing to be thinner.

Last May I started and by Sept had lost 2 stone, since then I had three months of staying stuck and now I am off again - soon to be 3 stone lighter than this time last year. In no time I had lost half the weight I wanted and the goal seems to get nearer.

I broke my goals into 7lb targets, either a party or some occasion that I wanted to be slimmer for. Rather than looking at the big picture. For me that really helped and in no time I am more than half way there.

Stick at it - you can do it with the rest of us.

    Good Luck
