    Default Hangs head in shame:-(

:S Hi everybody. So much for my planned start to lose weight. My hubby has been made redundant and I made the classic attempt to comfort myself,by tucking in to vast quantities of food. My head is clearer now and I now plan to start again tomorrow Friday 13th February. I hope to report daily on my progress. I find this site inspirational and I need to visit daily to seek some motivation. Thank you all for your support and good luck on your weigh loss journeys. xx Summer

Summer - don't beat yourself up. You will be under a lot of stress at the moment.

You will feel so much better when you gain control of your eating - both physically and mentally.

What I tend to do is overeat, then beat myself up about the overeating. What I have learnt is that I tended to overeat to avoid looking at the really stressful things going on around me. So instead of sorting out my life I would blame my size!

I have had nine months now of being in control of my eating which gives me such a feel good factor. Many people have commented on how different I am now and it is mostly because of my self esteem, not my weight.

A couple of things that really worked for me were:

Write a list of the benefits of loosing weight, leave it by your bedside and read it when you wake and before you sleep.

I had a saying 'I want to loose weight more than I want to eat that biscuit/chocolate/cake.......' so everytime I was heading for comfort food I would remind myself.

Keep going Summer you will feel so much better - don't let those sabotaging voices win.

Menu planning - Plan your meals for the week and go shopping just for the items you know you will eat. This not only saves time but also money as you don't fill the trolley with extras.

    Keep going
