    Default I want "me" back

Heres my tale.... I was a chubby child who became size 8 adult until I started a new career and stopped exercising. Only went up a dress size so wasnt too bothered until I had my son 2 years ago. It all went pear shaped (literally)! He was born 12 weeks early and when he came home I was way too busy to even think about me.Until I realised that I weigh as much now as when I had him!. I was horrified and went to my GP who agreed that he would weigh me every month until I got to a healthy weight. All I want to to get the old me back and yes of course he was worth every pound I gained but I want to be fit and active Mum. Joined a gym 2 weeks ago and started a calorie controlled diet at the same time. Am doing cardio and weights every 2 days and feel fantastic but have along way to go. Here are my stats:

    Height: 5ft 1
    Weight: 12 1/2 stone
    BMI: Too scared to look!

Has anyone else had any success with cc and gym?

Will keep this updated. Am going back to be reweighed on the 1st of April so fingers crossed!

    Hey welcome to diets

Good to see you have started a journal and started at the gym. I have had success in the past with calorie control and attending the gym, but it is hard to fall back into your old ways when you are feeling hungary.

Have you had any weight loss since you started at the gym ?

There are plenty of great people on here who will motivate you and help you on your way.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to following your progress

    Default Re Weight loss

Hi, Great to hear that someone else has had success with this approach! Dont know about the weight loss yet but have just been measured at the gym and have lost a total of 4 inches in measurements so I can only presume that the weight lifting is toning me up, will know about the weight loss on 1st of April and am a bit confident so wont even take my earrings out before I step on the scales! Watch this space.

    Hi fedup

I can definately relate to the wanting 'me' back thing. Having said that, Ive been big all my adult life...

Ive been going to the gym for the past month and am starting to see results. Good for you for going. Dieting alone has never worked for me and I, like you, just feel healthier for exercising.

My fitness is increasing with leaps and bounds and that is an incentive in itself to keep it up.

    Hope it keeps going well

    Hiya,

Yes I have had success with watching the calories combined with the gym, so I would anticipate that you would do very well on this plan...providing you keep it up! Consistency is the key.
