    Default Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe

    I want to Share the Diet Food recipe of the Cabbage Soup.this is very Good Diet and Effective Diet Food.

    * 6 large green onions
    * 2 green peppers
    * 1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
    * 3 Carrots
    * 1 Container (10 oz. or so) Mushrooms
    * 1 bunch of celery
    * half a head of cabbage
    * 1 package Lipton soup mix
    * 1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)
    * 1 48oz can V8 juice (optional)
    * Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc.

    Directions:

    Slice green onions, put in a pot and start to saute with cooking spray.

    Cut green pepper stem end off and cut in half, take the seeds and membrane out. Cut the green-pepper into bite size pieces and add to pot.

    Take the outer leafs layers off the cabbage, cut into bite size pieces, add to pot.

    Clean carrots, cut into bite size pieces, and add to pot.

    Slice mushrooms into thick slices, add to pot.

    If you would like a spicy soup, add a small amount of curry or cayenne pepper now.

    You can use beef or chicken bouillon cubes for seasonings. These have all the salt and flavors you will need.

    Use about 12 cups of water (or 8 cups and the V8 juice), cover and put heat on low. Let soup cook for a long time - two hours works well. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

    The recipe is as bellow :

    Ingredients:

    - ˝ or whole cabbage head
    - 1-6 green onions (scallions)
    - 16-28 ounces of crushed, canned, or whole fresh tomatoes
    - 2 bell peppers (green)
    - 1 stalk up to 1 bunch celery
    - 1-2 packages of Onion Soup mix
    - Black pepper to suit your taste
    - Herbs to suit your taste
    - 6 carrots (optional)
    - 16 ounces of green beans (optional)
    - Small can of V-8 juice (optional)

    Method :-

    Slice the vegetables and then place it in a huge pot covered with water. Add the soup mix. Then boil gently for about 10 minutes, cover it while lowering the heat to simmer until the vegetables are soft. Since this soup will last you several days, you may want to put in additional water when the liquid starts to get low. A chicken or beef bouillon may be added too.

    There was a news item on yahoo today about this diet being unsafe as it also has fe nutrients. Also spoke about the windy side effects

    You are soo right about the side effects Stacy.
    This is one of those diets that can give you a real starter booster but is not good for any great length of time, as you say, not enough nutrients in it.
    My daughter went on this for about a week and all but collapsed.
    I can only say to anyone contemplating this to be really careful.
    All the world is mad except thee and me and even thee's a little odd!

    Very well that it could make you lost up to 10lbs in the first week, but that would greatly depend on how much you weighed before trying this diet.
    Also, it would not be 10lbs of fat you lost. Most of the weight would be 'water weight' as some people put it.. Also you'd lose a bit of muscle and you need muscle to maintain and build your metabolism in order to burn calories. It's not really worth it, in my opinion. It is far safer to lose weight by more reasonable methods.

    I'm not saying don't try it, do it by all means; if you're desperate to shed a few. I'm just pointing out things you should know before trying this diet.

    I don't like it but my mom make it often. I have to drink it due to my mom. I don't know more about the recipe of it but little recipe items are large green onions, green peppers, carrots, and tomato.
